RewildEarth.org and the Rewild Initiative™

RewildEarth.org is a grass roots organization created to combat global climate change caused by carbon dioxide emissions (CO2).

And, what is the Rewild Initiative™?  Simply put… a goal to save the world. The ultimate goal of the initiative is to plant trees… approximately 150 trees per person. Plants and trees convert the greenhouse gas, CO2 into biomass like tree trunks, leaves, branches and twigs. If  every human planted 150 trees, the resulting biomass would be the most effective means of combating climate change.  And you don’t have to wait to take action… you can start now!

So, where can you get 150 trees to plant?  Outside! Acorns, walnuts, apple seeds, pinecones, the “helicopters” that your maple tree drops en masse.  These are all future trees, and they are free!

Okay, but maybe you don’t have the space for 150 trees? For the time being, flowerpots will be sufficient (until the trees require transplanting).  Or you could contact your township, or your city or county, or your park district… or perhaps state or federal lands intended for public use.  Or maybe even a friend, family or neighbor’s backyard.  Or, you could contact your local, state and federal representatives for their assistance.  In the meantime, we’re going to be working on the Trillion Tree™ App to help facilitate this process.

Planting trees really can save the world.  Trees naturally sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and if we plant enough of them… we CAN make a difference.  It is a solvable problem.  And anyone can do it.  But, action is needed now.  So, find and plant your seeds and trees, and get them growing!  YOU can help SAVE THE WORLD! Earth is the only home we have… and we can beat this problem... together.
